Initiative for Pastoralists Communication (IPC) is a local NGO working with indigenous communities in Southwest Ethiopia and Karamojang Cluster. As a community based, it networks with community local structures, provides and supports community lead development initiatives.
The organization therefore intends to sensitize the community to understand their fundamental rights and democratic rights that can initiate viable development activities towards improving their livelihoods on poverty alleviation, health issues, conflict resolutions and illiteracy. Thus, realizing this, the local leaders and the communities aggregated to work in union with solidarity and livelihoods conditions.

IPC is a legally registered non for-profit organization under the Ethiopian Charities and Societies Agency with registry number 4341 on August 6, 2019 as a local organization in accordance with the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019.
Its office is based in Jinka, Lower Omo Valley, Ethiopia. The major mandate of our organization is to contribute to community development and stability through implementation of various projects within the region and along the border, and build strong pastoralist recognizable institutions that will impact, create opportunities and empower the transformation of indigenous people and support the development of sustainable livelihoods.
